Pinterest; More of a Tool Than Just an Online Trend

Pinterest has taken the online world by storm… most people started off by saying “What the heck is pinterest”, and “What’s the point?”… (But, think about it, this is just about how anyone first reacts to an up-and-coming internet phenomenon). Well, once you log-on to Pinterest and create your account, you create “boards”, and begin “pinning” photos you select- to the boards… most people I’ve spoken to become hooked! The concept is to keep it organized for ideas; it’s a great source and platform for vision, future projects, and/or just visual eye-candy.

A Screen-Shot of My "Home Decor" Pinterest Board

Whether for fashion/style, home decor, gardening, crafts, fitness tips, exploration, destination spots, etc; you basically create an online visual bulletin board for each topic you may so choose. I’ve found over the past almost year of “pinning” that many of my favorite “pins”(photos you like/select and dictate to a chosen board), tend to realistically stick out in my mind, and help me in many ways. Follow me on Pinterest: http://pinterest.com/elikas51/home-decor & read more below-I can either go back and look through my boards and find the specific photo I’m thinking of, or I screen shot it on my iPhone the minute I see it- if it’s that good- and use it as reference in conversation. Specifically speaking in regards to home decor- Pinterest has been amazing for me- for my personal taste and ideas for future home decor, to giving tips to buyers and sellers; the organization of it is so simple- all you need to do is type in “bathrooms”(for example) and gorgeous photos pop up of an eclectic mix of differently decorated bathrooms, for example. From baby room ideas, to kitchen remodels, garden oasis’s, flooring choices, Pinterest shows beautiful photos and ideas of all. Why not just google image search you may ask? Well of course that helps as well, and will always be one of my go-to’s, but the Pinterest system has it beat (for me and tons of others), as of now, and I highly recommend it if you haven’t yet checked it out. “Happy Pinning”!
