The Pier 1 Fall Catalog is here, an excellent quick and free reference for fall decor ideas. Either use pieces you already have at home, or pick up a few new items here. Pier 1 is one of my favorite stylish and eclectic home decor stores; offering products from around the world. Autumn in the home to me equates to warm colors, candles and fireplaces, and overall coziness.

A Sleek Masculine Touch; Noteworthy Decor Inspiration

I was browsing through a House Beautiful “Beautiful Designer Bedrooms” online article (Clicking through 84 photo slides of differently styled bedrooms), and this one really caught my attention. Sleek and clean; I think it’s perfect for a masculine style bedroom or an ideal color scheme for a “Man Cave”. These darker shades would work best in a naturally bright room, because the goal isn’t for it to really feel like a cave(dark on dark)… well not intentionally anyways.

Vuitton Color Scheme

Per the designer, ” The gentleman’s-club tone of son Daniel’s room in designer Annie Brahler’s Jacksonville, Illinois, house speaks to the teenager’s interest in British history. His mother, designer matched Behr paint and a Jonathan Adler Union Jack rug to colors on a Vuitton bag.” Source: House Beautiful

The dark tones in contrast to the crisp white accents eludes to a beautiful combo, especially with touches such as the vintage tub and chandelier in the bathroom… all in all creating a non overbearing masculine setting. Filing this under a personal decor inspiration favorite :).

Another Surprising 2013 Decor Trend

Brass. I don’t really understand this one, maybe it works more-so for the upscale/elegant non-traditional type homes. But it reminds me of the 70’s or 80’s? And not in a fun way, just seems to be just that… a trend that will come and go? I like contrast and eclectic looks but just personally not a Brass fan as it comes off as tacky to me? Thoughts?
